Churches donate quilts

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Riverside Community Church partnered to assure Marion County kids not only have beds but also have quilts to keep them warm. Twenty-five quilts were delivered to Riverside Church by representatives Katie and Eliza Jenchel. Receiving the quilts was Jason Watson of Riverside Church. The partnership between the two churches and many community members resulted in two sewing events, titled Quilt-A-Palooza 2 and Quilt-A-Palooza 2.5. 

Community members were invited to sew and tie quilts during those events. An estimated 65 workers participated in the two events. Quilters work most Mondays at Good Shepherd sewing and tying quilts, making baby care kits, and school bags for missions. The public is always invited to participate.
