Central women bag another league tennis win

INDIANOLA- The Central College women's tennis team has started the American Rivers Conference season 2-0 following a 6-1 triumph over Simpson College Saturday morning.

The Dutch (3-1, 2-0 A-R-C) swept the doubles point against the Storm (2-4, 0-1 A-R-C), including a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles by Claire Smock (sophomore, Pella) and Sidney Peterson (sophomore, Johnston).

Peterson didn't drop a set on the day after winning her No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-0.

Emma Murphy (senior, Liberty) rallied to win her No. 3 singles match after dropping the first set 6-3. She finished as a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4 winner).

Three home duals for the Dutch next week starts Tuesday against Buena Vista University at 4 p.m.
