Scott Leeper
September 01, 2026
Scott Leeper passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the age of
58 years. No services are planned at this time. Cards of condolence may be sent in
care of his sister, Monica, to Pierschbacher Funeral Home, 309 W. Main St., Knoxville,
Iowa.
Scott Warren Leeper was born April 28, 1968, in Knoxville, Iowa. He grew up in
Knoxville and attended Knoxville schools until his senior year, graduating from
Pleasantville High School in 1987.
Scott was a very skilled drywaller who worked well with his hands and was, as those
who knew his work might say, a magician with mud. He worked alongside Adrian
Iddings in construction doing drywall and also operated his own drywall company for a
time.
Scott was a son, brother, father, and friend. He could be stubborn, and convincing him
that he might be wrong was no easy task. His journey through life was not always an
easy one, and some of the choices he made led him down difficult roads and, at times,
created distance between Scott and those he loved. Still, beneath it all was a man who
cared deeply for his family and the people closest to him. Even when circumstances
kept him from being physically present, his family was never far from his thoughts or his
heart. Scott had a generous spirit and was always willing to lend a hand when he could.
Life may not always have allowed him to show his love in the ways he wanted, but that
love remained a meaningful part of who he was.
Scott enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan
and enjoyed NASCAR.
Scott will be greatly missed by his dad, Glen (Ruth) Leeper; son, Christopher Brumfield;
two grandchildren; sister, Monica (Cory) White; along with many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Mary (Don) Horras; grandparents: Obra &
Bonnie Geery and James & Marvania Leeper.
