Twylah Wilson

August 08, 2025

A Celebration of Life for Twylah Wilson, 82, of Knoxville, will be held Saturday,
August 16, 2025, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in
Knoxville (corner of Main and Harlan).
Twylah Beth (Monster) Wilson was born on January 29, 1943, to Henry and Elva
Monster in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Raised in Pella, Iowa, she was the 1960
Homecoming Queen in her hometown. Twylah married the love of her life, Doug
Wilson of Knoxville, on January 7, 1961, and they settled in Pella. Twylah and
Doug had two daughters, Heidi (Kendall) Robison of Lakeside, Arizona, and Holli
(Stu) Job of Pella, Iowa.
In 1966, Twylah & Doug moved to Olathe, Kansas, where Twylah was Doug’s
secretary in their Vermeer franchise. After 10 years the family relocated to
Knoxville, Iowa, where Twylah worked at The Clothes Closet. With two teenaged
daughters, she rarely took home a paycheck! Another decade passed and Twylah
and Doug moved to Phoenix, Arizona, (where Twylah worked at Mehagian’s
Furniture) and then to Sacramento, California, (where Twylah worked at Placer
Title) before returning to Knoxville, Iowa in 2001(where Twylah worked for
Johnston & Hicks and finished her career at Iowa State Savings Bank in her 70s).
Doug & Twylah often commented that they had greatly enjoyed every place they
had lived. Heidi and Holli remember their home as one filled with love, laughter,
and music.
In the early 1970s, both Twylah and Doug developed a passion for sharing the
saving love of Jesus Christ with others and this would continue for the rest of their
lives. They attended a seminar at their church that taught them how to share the
“Four Spiritual Laws” booklet and they quickly became an active part of a group
that went door-to-door introducing people to Jesus Christ and sharing about His
love for them…but not before sharing “The Four Spiritual Laws” with their own
daughters and leading them to Christ one afternoon.
Twylah was a voracious reader and was a member of the Doubleday Book Club for
over 50 years. She also enjoyed her Shaklee business of over 45 years. Twylah
loved to entertain, enjoyed her flower gardens over the years, found peace at the
ocean, and particularly liked to tell jokes, the more off-color the better! Twylah
had many friends, but the 7-Ups from Pella were very special to her. This group of
7 women have known each other all their lives and they try to gather together once
each year for treasured time together. With her joyful, fun-loving presence, Twylah
was the classic “people person” and enjoyed being around people and visiting with
them. But she truly found joy with Doug, Heidi, Holli, and their families.
This grew to include four grandchildren: Amanda Robison, Heath (Lisa) Robison,
Natalie (Ross) Sieren, and Meredith (Andrew) Waller. Nine great-grandchildren
would follow: Logan Robison, Brianna Robison, Melia Robison, Tiffany Robison,
Ethan Robison, Julian Robison, Coehn Robison, Leighton Robison, and Beric
Sieren.
Twylah and Doug were married 64 years in early 2025. Their love and affection
for each other was a beautiful example of faithful, lifelong love to their daughters,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew them. Doug adored
Twylah’s “crystal-blue eyes”, and said to the end that Twylah “was the girl for
me”.
Twylah was predeceased by her parents Henry Monster and Elva Monster, her
sister, Lola Toom, her in-laws Scott and Bette Wilson, and her brother-in-law,
Dennis Wilson.
